About the company & role

Our client is seeking an experienced Generator Engineer to join their team as a mobile engineer in Birmingham. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a great opportunity to work within a skilled and supportive environment. Reporting to the South West Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance, installation, diagnostics, repair, and testing across a range of diesel generators and associated equipment. Responsibilities/requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on generator systems

  • Conduct diagnostic, testing, and remedial work on generators and associated systems

  • Provide out-of-hours call-out cover on a rota basis for generator breakdowns

  • Attend client site visits to assess, maintain, or repair equipment

  • Forecast and report spare part requirements for scheduled works

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in generator engineering

  • Strong mechanical diagnostics experience

  • Qualified Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent)

  • Proficient in technical report writing with excellent attention to detail

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Willingness to obtain required security clearances, such as DBS check

Benefits

  • Salary of £36,000 - £45,000

  • 40 hours per/week, with regular overtime available (paid at 1.5x and 2x pay)
